1、Teaching design of Section A Topic 1 of Unit 2 Good morning / afternoon, my honored leaders and colleagues:Today I am going to talk about Topic 1 of section A in Unit 2 of Grade 8. I will interpret my teaching design from the following aspects.Firstly, lets start from the teaching contents.The topic
2、 of this section is health. The contents are gradually expanded from the first topic to the third topic, from talking about illness, then to seeing a doctor, next to keeping healthy. The topic also refers to the flu which reflects that the teaching materials are close to our daily lives.The teaching
3、 contents help students learn how to communicate with others and enrich students knowledge of health. Furthermore, the contents also raise students awareness of caring others. The contents make students know how to help those people who are ill and offer appropriate suggestions to them.The grammar o
4、f this Unit is continue to learn the Modal Verbs should, shouldnt and the use of had better, had better not. Modal Verbs are frequently used in our communications, thus, the contents of this unit are the foundation of new knowledge. The contents also connect the preceding knowledge to the new conten
5、ts which play an important role in the English learning system. Secondly, lets talk about teaching aims Aims on the knowledgePrimary aims:Students can speak, write, read, and recognize the new words toothache, dentist, cough ,fever, flu, plenty, tea.Students can use the following sentences patterns
6、to offer suggestion What is wrong with.? What is the matter with.?I have a fever. You should. Secondary aimsStudents can hear the order and react appropriately. Senior aimsStudents can use the language to communicate with others in the real situation and finish the exercises.Aims on the abilitiesStu
7、dents can use English to talk about the uncomfortable feeling and express their concerns of others in the right way. Aims on the emotion:To educate students to keep healthy habits and have healthy diet, and do exercise. To cultivate students awareness of understanding caring and helping others with
8、a willing heart.Thirdly, lets pay attention to the teaching focus and teaching difficultiesStudents can comprehend and apply the language to the topic of health and understand the instructive sentencese.g. What is wrong with you? You should It is difficult for students to use the grammar and the sen
9、tence patterns to talk about health in the real lives. So the teaching difficulty is the application of the teaching contents in the real situation.Fourthly, we should know our students wellMost students have right attitude to learning English and have the scientific learning habits. However, some s
10、tudents are weak in English. Thus, I believe the key of this class is to use the teaching time effectively and finish all the teaching tasks in the class. Teachers should encourage students to express themselves in English and apply their knowledge in the real communication. Fifthly, please allow me
11、 to analyze the teaching situationI will adopt situational teaching method and the分层次教学法.In order to carry out the spirit of New English Course Demand, I try to improve the way of teaching English. Whats more, I also encourage students to take part in activities in English class and to experience th
12、e knowledge and cooperate in learning English.Sixthly, about teaching methodBasing on the characteristics of the demands of the New English Course and the teaching materials, I will use the multimedia in the teaching process and make functional Power Point to stimulate students interest in English.
13、Seventhly, allow me to present my teaching procedures .In the teaching process, students are the roles of the class, teachers are the assistants, according to the real situation of this class, I have design the following teaching steps.1 Warming-upAt the beginning of the class, I will organize stude
14、nts to sing an English song to have students attention and inspire their interest. Only in the exciting mood, students can learn effectively.2 Leading-inI will use a game to lead students in the class. I will pretend that I were ill and ask students to guess whats wrong with me. Thus, I will present
15、 the new words about illness and other words: toothache, dentist, cough, fever,flu, plenty, tea.Then, I would read these new words and ask students to act them out to consolidate the new words. Next, I say: I have a toothache. What about Kangkang? And ask student to listen to the tape and answer my
16、question after listening to the tape. 3 PresentationI show students a picture which with questions: What is wrong with Kangkang? What should he do ?Ask some students to check the answers after listening to 1a. Listen to 1a again. Students read after the tape and act out the dialogue and practice the
17、 sentences. The whole class and teacher work together to find out the key words and write them on the blackboard. I will repeat the dialogue according to the key words and ask some students to recite the dialogue. I would reward those students who work well as encouragement. Students should sum up t
18、he ways to recite a dialogue to enhance the effectiveness of the class.At last, I will show students some pictures of 1c in Section A and demand students to work in a group. Students create new dialogues according to the pictures to train students abilities to use English.4 consolidationsListen to t
19、he tape, then ask students to mark the right order of the picture and offer some appropriate suggestions.Next, I will use some exercise to practice and consolidate the knowledge, basing to the Grammar and expressions in the class.In the process, I will commend those who act well and encourage those
20、who are slow in English learning and encourage them to work harder and give them more explanation of the knowledge after class.5 summary and homeworkSummary is the main steps in the class which summarize the teaching contents and the teaching process. Therefore, I will ask students to summarize on t
21、heir own, then we will share our summary. In the end, I will arrange some homework. 6 The expectation of this class Students learn more about English and enforce their abilities to recite a dialogue and improve their listening.
