2、s thesis is to analyze the reasons of general lossof students discourse power,the power relation betweenteachers and students and the domination of studentsautonomous learning over teachers instruction,and to proposesome measures for the balance of discourse right in class.Forinstance,the change of
3、traditional instruction model,theestablishment of student-centered and teacher-guidededucational model in class,the teaching form of studentdiscussion and cooperation in groups and the improvement ofthe abilities to learn autonomously.With the shift of discourseright in English class,students are mo

6、in a wide range of humanistic and socialscientific disciplines.He has pointed out that discourse right is asign of power-specific relationship.Obviously discourse right inclass is concerned with both teachers and students speakingright.However,the English teaching has been viewed as aprocess of inst
7、ruction from teachers to students.Consequently,the teachers occupy much of discourse right.But in recent years,both language teachers and learners are struggling for thebalance of discourse right between teachers and students.First of all,there should be an obvious shift in languageteaching from tea
8、chers-oriented to students-oriented.Students are required to manage their own study,shareresponsibility for successful language acquisition and becomeless dependent on teachers.Then teachers role in Secondlanguage Acquisition(SLA)has to be greatly changedimmediately.They should have this belief that
9、 teaching is not aknowledge of delivery,but knowledge of the processing andconversion of knowledge.It is teachers duty to teach studentsto learn autonomous learning rather than teach students whatthey know.In class language instruction is viewed not just asthe way of providing input but also as help
