8、tobebuilt,althoughbudgetaryconstraintshaveslowedthemomentumoftheTGVexpansion.SleepingBeauty:afairy-taleheroinewhosleptfor100yearsuntilwakenedbythekissofaprince.SnowWhite:themaincharacterinanoldfairytale.Snowwhiteisabeautifulprincesswhohasajealousstepmother.Thestepmotherownsamagicmirrorwhichwhenasked
9、“Mirror,mirror,onthewall,whoisthefairestofusall?”alwaysanswersthatsheisthemostbeautiful,untilonedayitsays“SnowWhite”.ThestepmotherisveryangryandsendsSnowWhiteintotheforesttobekilled.SnowWhitedoesnotdie,butfindsandliveswithsevenDwarfs.Herstepmothertriestokillherwithapoisonedapple,butinsteadofdyingshe
10、goestosleepuntilaprincekissesherandwakesher,andtheylivehappilyeverafter.PeterPan:themaincharacterinastorytitledPeter and WendybyJamesM.Barrie(Scottishplaywrightandnovelist,18601937),ayoungboywhonevergrowsupbutlivesinamagiclandcalledNever-neverLand.Inthestory,threechildren,Michael,John,andWendy,gowit
11、hPeterPanandTinkerbelltostayintheNever-NeverLand,wheretheyhavemanyadventures.PeterPansenemyinthestoryisCaptainHook,anevilpiratewhohasametalhookintheplaceofoneofhishands.CaptainHooklosthishandinafightwithPeterPan,andPeterPanthrewthehandintosomewater.Itwaseatenbyacrocodile,wholikedthetastesomuchthatit
12、thenfollowedCaptainHookaroundtryingtocatchandeattherestofhim.Pinocchio:Theinternationalclassicofchildhoodliterature“Pinocchio”waswrittenbyCarloLorenzini(Italianjournalistandwriter,18261890),underthepennameofC.Collodi,andfirstpublishedinRomein1881.ItsheroPinocchioisthelittlewoodenpuppetwhowalksandtal
13、ks,andwhosenosegrowseverytimehetellsalie.MickeyMouse:MickeyMouseisprobablythemostfamousoftheDisneycartooncharacters.Makinghisdebutin“SteamboatWillie”attheColonyTheatreinNewYorkCityonNovember18,1928,Mickeywentontostarinover120differentcartoons.Healsostarredin“TheMickeyMouseClub”televisionshowofthe195
14、0s.MickeyMousesoriginaldrawingsusedcirclesforhishead,bodyandears.1939s“ThePointer”sawabold,newdesignforMickeyashisbodybecamemorepear-shapedandpupilswereaddedtohiseyestoincreasehisrangeofexpression.Lateron,animatorsofthe1940swouldaddaperspectiveaspecttohisears,givingthemathree-dimensionaleffect.Thisc

18、stoattorneyPierreVerneandhiswifeSophie.Theoldestofthefamilysfivechildren,hespenthisearlyyearsathomewithhisparents,onanearbyislandintheLoireRiver.ThisisolatedsettinghelpedtostrengthenbothhisimaginationandthebondbetweenhimandhisyoungerbrotherPaul.Attheageofnine,heandhisyoungerbrotherweresenttoboarding
19、schoolattheNanteslyce.Vernesfascinationwithadventureasserteditselfatanearlyage,inspiringhimatonepointtostowawayonashipboundfortheOrient.Hisvoyagewascutshort,however,ashefoundhisfatherwaitingforhimatthenextport.Aftercompletinghisstudiesatthelyce,VernewenttoParistostudyforthebar.About1848,inconjunctio
